katrina + kari
Written by Bartek on August 22, 2010 – 10:52 pm - The sincere love that was felt in both families was immediately apparent the minute Magda and I walked through the door. Happy tears filled the whole day and Katrina’s dad’s speech had our viewfinders fogged up the whole time ;) The wedding took place at the exclusive Royal Ottawa Golf Club, which was founded in 1891 and really is approved by royalty! It goes without saying that along with Katrina and Kari’s fine taste, it made for a really beautiful location.
And of course the photos. Katrina and Kari trusted us to do whatever we liked so we directed them just a little and these two injected so much love, happiness and passion into the experience that it made our “job” so easy.
We wish you guys the most awesome future together and here are just a handful our our favourites from the day:

Written by Bartek on August 5, 2010 – 9:02 pm - Wow, Indian weddings are just breathtaking! Magda and I were just extatic to find out that Suchita and JP were going to have an Indian wedding with all the gorgeous bells and whistles, aaaaand they wanted us to be a part of this day! The wedding was held at the grand ballrooms of Le Windsor in Montreal, the flowers arranged by Lotus Blanc and the wedding was planned by Tania from Blanc Events.
It’s really hard to describe the atmosphere, colors, customs, scents, and the energy to someone who hasn’t attended a wedding like this but let me tell you it’s one heck of a fantastic ride. To hear the priest explain the ancient text, to see how he used during the ceremony and all the customs that accompany it was so touching and interesting…it truly was a magical time.
Here are a few of our favourite photographs from the day.

melissa + ben
Written by Magda and Bartek on July 16, 2010 – 10:59 pm - July 10, 2004 was the day Magda and I had chosen to have our own wedding 6 years ago, but for a few reasons we had to switch the date. Since we always leave our anniversary weekend free, we would have not been able to shoot Melissa & Ben’s wedding if our date hadn’t changed… which would have totally been a shame because we love all our brides and we hate turning anyone down!!
What’s with this crazy rain these days? They’re forecasting rain all the time and in turn stressing out our brides! Stop it weather people!!! Especially since most of the time you’re wrong! HA! ;) Even though we don’t generally care if it rains on the wedding day (unless there’s a epic-tropical-tornado-hurricane storm of course) we reassured Melissa it would be juuust fine…and it was! The day was mostly cloudy which is perfect for photos, and ended with some sun poking out at the end for some backlit images…which we loooove. Oh and Melissa and Ben decided to have their photoshoot before the ceremony which is always a treat because we find that generally couples are a little more relaxed than after the big moment! And the makeup is fresh too! Bonus! :)
The reception was held at the Canadian Museum of Civilisation and it was just adorable. With both Melissa and Ben being grade school teachers and with both of them not being too fond of the regular wedding speeches, they had asked everyone to bring their favourite children’s book or poem and read that instead! Everyone at the party loved the idea! And they closed it off by reading a rhyming poem that Melissa and Ben took turns reading, it was a very original way to say a speech, and we absolutely adored it.
We had a blast photographing you two and we wish you the best on your new journey!

ola + robin
Written by Magda and Bartek on June 30, 2010 – 7:53 pm - Well I’m not sure where to start with this one. This wedding is very special for us because it involves two of our closest friends…more specifically, the bride is Magda’s bestest-best-bosom friend in the whole wide world ever since junior high school! If someone had told me years ago that I’d be the professional photographer at Ola’s wedding along with Magda being her matron of honor, I would have told that person to go to the crazy house. But here we are, it really happened…and it was spectacular :)
It was a little different for us this time because I was shooting 94.5% of the time of this wedding solo, with Magda coming in to shoot during the photoshoot as well (she couldn’t help herself). The ceremony was really sweet and touching and the party was soooo much fun! Not only did I get to photograph Ola and Robin but we got to spend time with friends, family, and even our daughter who was the flower girl got to come and party with us! How cool is that?
Ola and Robin worked it like the best models out there, these images rock!!! The ceremony was at our very own Polish church, St. Hyacinth’s in Ottawa…hollaaaaaa! And the reception was held at the very fitting Temple’s Sugar Camp since Robin is in love with and is a pro at wood working! So if you need a state of the art piece of hand crafted furniture, Robin’s your man! No. Seriously, he is awesome at wood working.
We have said this countless times already but we wish you the absolute best that life has to offer, and we’ll be there to capture your 50th anniversary, just you wait!!! (probably with 500 megapixel cameras or something). God Bless and we love you both very very much!!!
On to the photos. Enjoy…

Ola with her bestest! On the other side of the lens…very cool. And is it getting hot in here or is it just me…?

The girls!!!

And the boys.

Love this one! One of Magda’s shots too!

In front of Temple’s Sugar Camp. Love the red.

What whaaaaat? Look at these two…

I think the reception hall fit Ola and Robin perfectly. They decorated it exactly to their characters and to what they like and I think it all turned out fabulously. Magda designed the center pieces amogst other things for Ola too!

And check out this cake!!! SO cute!
