Written by Magda and Bartek on November 25, 2009 – 12:36 pm - Claudia and Simon waited a long time for this day and it finally happened! We met these two quite a while ago at one of the first weddings we shot (Paula and Nemr). We are really blessed to have all these amazing clients all the time! We really feel like we are part of the wedding, instead of just vendors… Thanks to all our amazing brides and grooms! :)
Just two weeks before their big day we did a fabulous engagement photoshoot with Claudia and Simon , if you haven’t seen it check it out here. They showed us how they can rock it out infront of the camera and got us even more excited for their big day!
The day was fantastic. Claudia loves Montreal’s downtown and urban architecture so we started the photosession over at the incredible Windsor Station which was bult in 1887!!! It offers a really grand and classy setting which went perfectly with Claudia and Simon’s style. We then headed over to a few interesting locations around the upper downtown streets and eventually ended up at another historic place in Montreal… This time we added a little bit of greenery to the shoot by visiting the Westmount Conservatory and Greenhouse which houses beautiful plants all year round and of course has stunning architecture as it was built it the 1920’s. ( Looove that era!)
The night ended off at the Embassy Plaza Reception hall in Laval and the decor and party was ah-mazing!! Thank you for the wonderful day, we had a blast capturing your day and you two rocked it out! Oh and we were treated by having our good friend and talented photographer Jesse Bachmann be a third shooter during the day which made the day even more awesome.
Here are our favourites from the day:

Claudia getting her princess gown on!

Simon, preparing for the big day

It’s funny because in practically every wedding we do, the guys are done getting ready way ahead of time and have some time to relax :)

After the boys were done their thing, we had a bit of time to take a few shots in the parking lot:

The big moment…

Then we took the bridal party over to Windsor Station in downtown Montreal for some shots:

The gorgeous girls:

And the dapper guys :)

After that we broke off with the newlyweds and hit the town for some more photo opportunities!

We love these hearts in front of the Musee des Beaux Arts

Then we headed to the stunning building of the Westmount Conservatory/Greenhouse

Love it!

It was getting really dark but we quickly took a shot of Simon backlit with the streetlight and loved it! (for your techies: 5DmkII, 50mm, f1.2, 1/80s, iso3200)

And finally the super duper awesome reception!!! Claudia and Simon entered and got right down into a really amazing arabic dance:

Their first dance…

Below are some more photos from Claudia and Simon’s day :)

Written by Bartek on November 14, 2009 – 6:31 pm - Paulette and Ron are simply awesome to be around with. Both them and their families have so much heart and positive energy that it’s contagious! Paulette’s dad almost immediately after meeting us, invited us to their family Christmas dinner this December too which we happily accepted. :)
We had bad luck at first with the weather being uncooperative (seemed to be a trend this ‘09 summer…) and we got some rain. To everyone’s delight, it completely stopped raining right after the ceremony and we got some really nice diffuse light coming though nature’s natural softbox…the clouds!
For the photos we headed to Pointe-Claire Village which is located in Montreal’s West Island region just by the water. It’s an awesome little town with coffee shops, cute boutiques and little old fashioned homes with alot of character. Oh, and if you’re ever in the area, you must drop by Wild Willy’s ice cream shop! They have some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had! They even have a doggy flavour for your pooch if you bring him along.
Paulette and Ron were up to anything and they rocked it the entire time!!! Thank you guys and we wish you the best in your new life. We leave you with a few of our favourite photos of your day:
Christian Louboutain heels? Fashion is Paulette’s middle name.

We have no words about how beautiful Paulette looks in the following two shots:

The name’s Ron.

We had some extra time so we too all the gents outside for a few quick photos!

And then we followed three little angels to church… ;)

The whole and beautiful bridal party :)

The church house was just asking to be used for a photo…

The bride with her bridesmaids!!!

The guys (only the groomsmen this time)

And now we’re off to shoot just Paulette and Ron!

This tree seriously looked like this in person. It almost looks like it’s on fire…just like Paulette and Ron’s love…aaawwww…cheesy I know ;)

One of our absolutes favourite frames:

I love her smile in this one…so genuine

Magda took this next shot, and I think this is my favourite one from the day. Look at the pose! The texture! The colors! Love it.

Paulette & Ron did a stellar job making the hall look exactly how they wanted…and it was hot!!!

And then, the party started. With Paulette riding piggy pack on Ron into the reception hall!!! Awesome :D

The first dance…

Now I’m really proud of this shot. When I took this photo, my camera triggered my softbox off to the right (out of frame). But on top of that I managed to capture the flash from one of the cameras a guest used!!! This is very rare because a flash goes off for only a fraction of a second…much faster than my camera. I love the way it turned out :)

And then everyone had a blast into the night…including Paulette’s adorable dad:
